Do You Know How to Make Crispy Croutons from Day-Old Bread?
These crunchy cubes are perfect for salads, soups, and snacks
Ingredients
2 large slices of crusty bread (you can use whatever bread is available)
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder
Ground pepper (a pinch)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Line a plate with a paper towel to absorb the oil after baking.
Prepare the bread by cutting or tearing it into cubes or small pieces. You should have about 3 cups of cubes.
Place the bread on a baking sheet and drizzle the cubes with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper, and then toss the bread, arranging it evenly across the baking pan.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring twice until the bread is golden brown with a bit of chew in the middle. Transfer to the plate with the paper towel. Use immediately or store in an airtight container.
