Interesting. My husband has a doctorate in philosophy and was pastor for 6.5 years. He ended up as an adjunct at the community college and without my working full-time we would have been on welfare. This is not because my husband was lazy, he actually worked extremely hard at thinking and writing and teaching. But he was never adequately compensated.
