Three-Ingredient Applesauce

You don’t even have to peel the apples

Apples are plentiful in Nebraska during the fall and Foodnet, Lincoln, Nebraska’s gleaning program, receives bushels of this luscious fruit each year.

I’m always looking for quick and easy ways to use whatever fruits and vegetables are available in season, and this three-ingredient applesauce is one of our family favorites.

Ingredients

2 apples chopped into bite-size pieces (I leave the peel on but that’s up to you)

¼ tsp ground cinnamon (plus more if you like)

2–3 Tablespoons of water, apple juice, or spiced apple cider

Put these ingredients in a medium-size pot, cover, and cook on low or medium-low for 15 or 20 minutes. Stir a few…
