When God Asked My Opinion
I was shocked and I bet you will be too
“I’m 82 years old and I’ve been serving the Lord for more than 50 years,” the grey-haired preacher boomed from the pulpit, “In all that time God has never asked my opinion.”
He stopped speaking long enough for the message to sink in.
I’m not sure what passage he was expounding that day, the only thing I remember are those words, “God has never asked for my opinion.”
An important lesson for a new believer
I was 26 years old and living in Seattle, Washington, when I became a Bible-believing Christian. I visited one church after another but nothing seemed right. Then I met Art and Vi, a middle-aged couple who invited me to their home to join a fellowship group.
I fit in well. The group included people like Patrick, a young man who had met the Lord while in prison; Patti, a former Mormon; Diane, a wild and crazy new believer who eventually became a dear friend.
